Proposal for a New Jersey Transit Facility developed as a Gateway for the City of Hoboken, New Jersey. The historic rail yards of Hoboken are part of ‘the Golden Age of Rail. The concept utilizes a damaged existing and abandoned Pullman type rail car, scheduled for demolition, found in the Hoboken rail yards. This rail car, transformed and illuminated from within, emerging from the earth and appearing to take flight, expresses motion and symbolizes resurrection, a leap from the past into the future in an expression of the identity of New Jersey Transit.
