Proposal for a gateway developed as an integration of art and plaza for a new global city , planned for Manila, Philippines. The stone surface of the plaza , treated conceptually as a 'skin', is peeled to reveal a miniature sea animated by continuous waves of water. These waves emanate from the triangular tip, splash up against the solid form, dissolve into mist, recede and regenerate in a continuous cycle. Incorporating water, fog and lighting effects, the surface of the sculpture transforms from day to night into a constellation of shimmering stars on the land, a reflection of the stars in the night sky.
